Founded in 1855, the Sears Manufacturing Company pioneered the development of specialized seats for the agricultural, construction and industrial vehicle industries. Upon entering the market, Sears immediately established a reputation for supplying technologically advanced products that offered unparalleled comfort and durability. These qualities became the hallmark of a Sears seat, making Sears number one in the off road seating industry.

 

1855 Sears Seating established in Davenport, Iowa by founder Isaac Howe Sears.	1855 Sears began by producing harnesses, saddles and other quality leather & canvas goods for the agricultural industry.
1947 Sears began producing agricultural and industrial seats.	1965 Sears introduced first mechanical suspension for the agricultural market.
1976 Sears expanded internationally with Sears Europe in UK.	1981 Sears expanded into heavy-duty truck seating market.
1994 Sears expanded facilities in Davenport with new mechanical center to house six-axis ride simulators and test equipment	2005 Sears added 50,000 additional square feet at main plant in Davenport, Iowa. Sears also celebrated their 150th anniversary.
2007 Sears is a world leader in seats for the agricultural, construction, industrial and heavy-duty truck markets.	2007 Through five generations Sears Manufacturing has become a global company with corporate headquarters in Davenport, Iowa.
